Our story
When and why we were founded
Founded in 2020, VFX Education is part of Skellefteå YH and has grown into a recognized hub for creative training in visual effects. The program was originally conceived in collaboration with Goodbye Kansas, a leading studio in the industry. Today, while owned and operated independently, we maintain a strong and close partnership with Goodbye Kansas — sharing systems, workflows, and industry connections that ensure our students learn in a professional, real-world environment.

Our team

Richard has a background spanning multiple areas of game development and project management. He has been running companies since 2015 and has been with Visual Magic since its inception, initially consulting on the studio’s first 3D course. In 2021, he joined full-time and led the transformation of the program into the comprehensive curriculum it is today.
Robert Ringholm is a dedicated VFX educator and compositor with expertise in procedural workflows and innovative problem-solving. He is committed to fostering growth – both his own and that of his students – through a deep passion for teaching and mentoring. Renowned for his clear, approachable style, Robert excels at guiding others through the complexities of visual effects, helping them develop both technical proficiency and creative confidence.

Erik is a technical animator, motion capture specialist, and software developer with a strong passion for research, development, and emerging technologies. He thrives on exploring innovative solutions and staying at the forefront of IT advancements, while actively sharing knowledge and continuously expanding his own expertise.
